Network Assistant (part-time) (Information Technology)

This job reports to the Infrastructure Manager

Relocation is not provided and travel is not required.

This is a Part-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Overview
Assists in professional and/or technical work involving the analysis of computer networks providing system capabilities required for projected work loads, and the planning of layout and installation of new network systems or modifications for existing systems, including but not limited to: maintain, configure, and install computer equipment, personal computers, and/or related networking equipment; provide support for end users; perform cabling (including termination); maintain computer inventory records; conduct routine clerical duties. Minimum $8.00/hr, DOQ.

Qualifications
Required: Adequate knowledge, skill, and ability to perform above stated job functions effectively. Valid Drivers License. Requires various abilities to perform essential job functions (e.g., keyboarding; moving, lifting, installing, repairing, and working with various computer hardware and software; etc.), including but not limited to: safely drive a vehicle; lift/move up to 50 lbs.; use fingers/hands/arms to reach, handle, and feel; physical repetitive motion; use of vision to see close, color, peripherally, adjust focus, and for depth perception, etc.; sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; effectively communicate in person, and via radio/phone; and other requirements of job.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED, or one year experience in related field. Considerable knowledge of PC hardware and software with the ability to troubleshoot at a technical level; knowledge of computer networks and concepts including TCP/ IP; technical knowledge of computer software and operating systems. Also highly desirable: A+ Certification, Network + Certification, Microsoft certifications, and Certified Technician for selected vendor(s).
