This job reports to the Transit Manager

Relocation is not provided and travel is not required.

This is a Part-Time position, working 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, Weekends.

Overview
The CITY OF OWENSBORO, KY is taking applications for the part-time, non-civil service position of:

PUBLIC WORKS TRANSIT BUS DRIVER (PART-TIME)
$12.19/hr




Job Skills/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or three months experience as a Bus Driver or similar position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid drivers license. Requires various abilities to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to: obtain (and maintain) CDL, Class B or higher, with P endorsement within designated timeframe upon hire; safely and effectively drive and operate transit vehicles; use vision in various weather conditions and daylight/dark; sit for several hours a day while driving the bus; climb on and off the bus; perform CPR/First Aid in and outside the bus when necessary; assist wheelchair passengers in boarding/securing their chairs/exiting; lift/move up to 100 lbs.; effectively communicate in person and via radio; and other requirements of job.

PREFERRED: Valid CDL (Class B or C) with "P" (Passenger) endorsement preferred at time of application.
