This job reports to the Director of Nursing

This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, Weekends.

Overview
EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Handles patient inquiries, schedules appointments, answers telephone and communicates with physicians.
Receives, registers and directs patients to proper areas for examinations.
Prepares medical charts for new patients and records medical history, assesses and documents chief complaints and checks and records vital signs, height and weight.
Assists physician with examinations and procedures.
Performs various clinical tests and administers immunizations and injections.
Makes appropriate entries on patient's chart.
Obtains specimens, performs and documents basic lab tests and prepares specimens for transport to appropriate lab.
Assists in patient's needs as requested.
Cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization.
Cleans, stocks and orders supplies for exam rooms.
Travels between satellite clinics.


Job Skills/Requirements
High School Graduate/GED
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted as determined applicable by Civil Service.
Appropriate experience or training must involve the giving of injections.
Must be able to provide own transportation.
Must obtain CPR certification by the end of the probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with FHC.


Additional Information/Benefits
Minimum Salary = $11 per hour + 12% shift differential for evening and Saturday clinics

Verification of education and Medical Assistant diploma must be provided on or before scheduled test date.
