This job reports to the Director of Nursing

This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift, Weekends.

Overview
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Documents patient history and assesses chief complaints.
Reviews charts and makes entries.
Prepares patient and room for appropriate examination procedures.
Assists providers with exams and procedures.
Administers medications, injections, immunizations and venipunctures as ordered by physician.
Handles all abnormal lab results according to protocol.
Assesses patient complaints via telephone and recommends appropriate action according to prescribed protocol.
Counsels patients regarding health status, risks, recommended actions and community resources.
Writes refill prescriptions for physician's signature.
Assists other nursing staff personnel when appropriate.
Ensures a clean, well stocked and safe work area.
Keeps medication stocked and in-date.
Orders and distributes supplies.
Travels between satellite clinics.
Adheres to universal precautions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Moves and/or lifts more than 100 lbs. when positioning patients or when assisting patients on and off the examination table.


Job Skills/Requirements
Graduation from a two year nursing school approved by the National League of Nursing.
Must obtain CPR certification by the end of the probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with FHC.

Possession of a license to practice professional nursing in the State of Kentucky. OR Possession of a work permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Kentucky and must pass the licensure examination.

Additional Information/Benefits
Minimum Salary - $17.90 per hour +12% shift differential for evening and Saturday clinics
