Overview ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises the operations of a specific health service clinic or health service program. Develops nursing service plans to address health care issues or to comply with regulations. Coordinates clinic and program activities with other health service programs, health centers and community agencies, and refers patients to available community resources. Exercises supervision over subordinate personnel. EXAMPLES OF THE WORK (These statements are intended to be illustrations of the work of this class.) UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION: Plans, coordinates and supervises a health service clinic or program activities. Develops and maintains health service program records, policies and procedures to comply with program or nursing standards, protocols, policies and theories. Evaluates and recommends improvements in health care procedures and services. Interprets, explains and implements regulations, policies and procedures and renders decisions. Collects statistical data and prepares reports regarding health service clinic or program activities. Provides technical assistance, consultation, education and instruction concerning health service program operations and activities, health habits, health maintenance and prevention of diseases. Assists in budget preparation and controls expenditures. Conducts training classes, lectures and seminars on health related topics. Represents the department to other agencies, and attends public meetings and conferences to discuss, inform and instruct others concerning health services and programs. Participates in quality assurance activities. Performs related work.
Job Skills/Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Nursing; Community or Public Health; Health Care, Business or Public Administration; Social Sciences or a related field. Three years of nursing, primary care, community or public health, or social service experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Prenatal and Diabetes Programs Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Three years of obstetrics, gynecological, family planning, diabetes or community health nursing experience. Additional education in nursing may be substituted for experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kentucky (KRS 314.041). Must provide one's own source of transportation. Must work a varied schedule. Must wear protective equipment as mandated by OSHA. Must be vaccinated for hepatitis B, have provided evidence of immunity, or have signed a declination form within ten days of initial assignment. TB Clinic Must pass an annual tuberculin test.
Minimum Salary: $43,222.40
