Community Workforce Initiative

MyCareerNetwork works with various types of community based organizations to develop and enhance overall workforce strategies. The goal being to eliminate the “silos” of data prevalent in today’s current workforce structures. From establishing a localized job portal to providing customized tools for the main drivers of workforce efforts, the MCN Community Workforce Initiative can help streamline and redeploy your workforce strategies.

One-Stop Centers

The Job Center is the official One-Stop Operator for the Dayton Region. MCN provides The Job Center with both Case Management and Job Posting tools to help provide opportunities to job seekers and then track those job seekers throughout the hiring process. This self service system has enabled The Job Center to track its constituents as they proceed on their own via the www.GreaterDaytonWorks.com job portal.

Educational Institutions

Career Centers at local educational institutions are an integral part of any workforce initiative. MCN has tools that allow Career Centers to register all students and alumni, gather permissions to access individual accounts and receive real-time notices when local employers hire individuals registered with their Career Center. Jefferson Community & Technical College in Louisville, KY utilizes this service by requiring all students to register on www.LouisvilleWorks.com and then tracks their progress. Even if an individual is hired by an employer not directly working with the school, JCTC gets notified of the hire which helps them engage a new employer in the overall process.

Chambers of Commerce

There is no bigger driver of workforce efforts than a Chamber of Commerce. Just ask Phil Parker, CEO of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC). As the leader in driving the demand side of workforce, DACC and its member employers have embraced the www.GreaterDaytonWorks.com community job portal. Through a series of tools provided by MCN, DACC can track volumes, hires, average pay rates and create workforce reports to help with economic development efforts. Through the generosity of a local sponsor, DPL Energy, DACC is able to offer a Member Benefit Discount Program to help its members see the benefits of this new approach without making a significant initial dollar investment.

Industry Associations

The Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) was looking to create a statewide health care job portal and provide additional services like application continuity, background screening, applicant tracking, compliance management and others. MCN provided those solutions and more without the need for KHA to invest any money in development. MCN provided the portal and employers tools at no cost to KHA and worked with its staff to create a Member Benefit Program that integrated the needs of the Member Hospitals into a single package. The results have been overwhelming. Member Hospitals are seeing lower vacancy rates, increase speed of hiring, significant reductions in cost-per-hire and improved quality through an ever-growing pool of locally interested health care professionals.

Government

No one is more invested in helping individuals find gainful employment that state and local governments. MCN and the Commonwealth of Kentucky have partnered to daily synchronize all jobs posted to our Kentucky related job portals with the Commonwealth’s Workforce Operating System. This greatly increases the volume of jobs available to Kentucky residents seeking employment throughout the state. More jobs mean more opportunity to find a new job and therefore less time for a resident to be on the Kentucky Unemployment Register. This is a true win/win example of a public/private partnership.
